Apple iPhone 4g Release Date in india
Are you planning to buy the latest iPhone 4 in India officially? then you might have to wait until this Diwali.
It’s recently confirmed by an Airtel executive to Reuters that the company (Airtel) is looking to launch iPhone4 in India around the months of September or October. However, Vodafone which also sells iPhone’s in India has not yet confirmed their own launch dates.
The price of iPhone 4 in India will definitely cost you more than a normal Laptop (40-45k).
Unofficial Route to buy iPhone 4 before its release in India: Buy a locked iPhone4 from US and get it unlocked (or) get the Apple iPhone4 from either the UK or Canada as unlocked iPhones are officially launched by Apple in these countries. So, there is no need to unlock these i-Phones specially.
Note that the Apple iPhone 4 Supports only Micro-SIM Standard (which is not yet available with any service provider in india) and doesn’t work with any regular GSM SIMs in India as of now.

Assholes from Apple will not launch iphone 4 in india till their old stocks of iphone 3gs are not over in us
Just imagine this is the same case with all US companies.
They can launch iphone 4 in US along with rest of world, even Asian regions like China, malaysia and Singapore, but they know that Indians would be ok with spending the same amount of money to purchase older products.
Please dont spend 40000rs on purchasing an old iphone 3gs when the new iphone 4 comes at the same price
Even I would suggest dont purchase iphone4 at all
Govt of India should put a 100% tax on Apple products in India – then only US companies like Apple Inc. would get minds.
This is when over 95% of their support whether it’s Database management, Network support or Software development – all comes from Indian IT company TCS
