Blog commenting is an excellent source of getting one way links pointing back to your site which also gives traffic if you write the comments well.
The more the relevant links, the higher your ranking will be. There are 2 types of blog commenting techniques
1. Do-Follow Blog commenting
2. No-Follow blog commenting (Seems interesting! Right? then Read the complete post…)
When you shout a comment on some one’s blog, you need to enter your name, email address and a website URL into a form in order to write your comment.
Take a brief look at the comments that are shot before yours. Notice the names they are using for commenting. Are they using their real name or a pen name? If they are using their real name, so should you. If not, then try to use your targeted keyword instead of the real name. The URL you entered will be incorporated with your name. So using a keyword will boost your ranking.
Below are a few working guidelines that you can follow while commenting on blogs:
There are few people who only comment on “do-follow blogs”. But, I suggest you to comment on all blogs that are relevant to yours. May that be a do follow blog or a no-follow blog.
The reason behind this is “do follow commenting” will boost your rankings in Google and not other search engines like yahoo and Bing as their search algorithm is completely different. Bing (previously MSN) rely mostly on these blog commenting, let it be follow or no follow. So, why not use the no-follow commenting to boost your rankings in MSN and Yahoo which sends genuine traffic to your website.
How to find the blogs that are relevant to yours? It’s so simple.

# Yahoo follows NoFollow links and excludes the link from all ranking calculations.
# MSN may or may not follow a NoFollow link, but it does exclude it from ranking calculations.
# Ask.com does not adhere to NoFollow.

All very good tips, and I’ll be voting this up on Sphinn. I would like to add another reason to ignore the whole NoFollow-DoFollow thing sis that search engines are expert pattern identifiers. If 80% of blogs feature NoFollow comments and your comments are 80% on DoFollow blogs, what does that tell the search engines spam-detection team?

For me I suggest you should not focus on blog commenting in Do Follow Blogs you should also try commenting with No Follow but a high Page Rank..For your automated submission tool you can use SEnuke tool. Google has updated PR in october for many sites and blogs, but that was a minor pr update which will happen a lot of times depending up on their algorithm. The major PR Update did not happen after April. But there is a buzz that Google will update PR this jan 2011 as new years gift. So let’s wish that happens.

I think blog commenting is one of the best way in SEO to get backlinks in short time.But this is also a important fact that there is first get approval from blog author ans then he/she placed our comment on their blog post.Mostly comments are deleted.So we should always try to do best comment so that it ll help to blog owner to create some unique content.If we ll add some valuable content in our comment then blog owner ll definitely add that comment in their blog post and also ll rewarded as do follow backlink.Please never try to do spam anyone blog.

This is a good set of guidelines for blog commenting. I hope many follow this. Especially the part where those who will comment should post relevant comments about the post they are commenting on. It sure makes the site owner or blogger feel more appreciated because his/her post was recognized. A relevant comment shows the post was read, understood and given enough attention.

owners name. Many comments are generic they would fit any blog post
and look like spam.
I’ll answer an earlier comment to – the comments here are nofollow.
You can tell by using a tool like search status for firefox.
