How to Setup Ping Service in iTunes 10 in 6 Easy Steps?

Ping, a new feature that is updated in iTunes 10 software, is a social networking service to interact with people and artists with similar liking/taste for music. Once you’ve setup your account on ping you’ll be able to follow others (celebrities/artists/friends) to discover new music, add/read reviews of songs and music albums through ping network.

How to Setup Ping Account in iTunes?

1. Open iTunes 10 (download the latest version of iTunes from apple.com/itunes)

2. In the iTunes store, click ‘Ping’ button which you can view at the top navigation bar.

3. Now click ‘Turn on Ping’ button on the next screen. Enter your contact details on ‘Create My Profile’ page (your name, avatar photo, description and more).

4. Then You can choose your favorite music at the bottom of ‘create my profile’ page. Click ‘Continue’ to get started with Ping service.

5. Next step involves finding friends/artists to be added to your Ping network. You can easily search for Facebook friends, celebrities, artists and other people related to music of your choice.

6. Click Follow button once you find a person of your choice. It will then send a friend request to that person. Once your friend request is accepted, you can follow and comment on each other’s iTunes purchases, reviews, upcoming events and music liking.

Clicking on the Like button will allow you to add quick response which is just similar to that on Facebook. The Ping service of iTunes will let you create/join communities of different people with similar music taste.
