Wikipedia Outage – Wikipedia Server is Down Due to Overheating Problems
Wikipedia, the famous online encyclopedia when opened showed a DNS failure notice instead of the actual homepage. A spokesman from wikipedia said that the access to english language pages will be restored soon,
The actual problem that caused wikipedia to slow down is overheating with its European data center. So, the severs had been shut down to prevent damage from overheating and will be re-activated as soon as possible [i.e., sufficiently cooled down].
Update: Resolved the Problem. If you still encounter an error while opening the wikipedia page, it may be due to caching problem. Remove the cache and you wll notice the wikipedia running.
